  • Call it love for writing or passion for computers — Arun Soni can’t just get enough of authoring computer books. Starting in ‘97, he now has 58 books on computer to his credit. An achievement that has his name in the ‘Limca book of Records-edition 2009’. “My publishers sent the entry and I got to know about it a few days back,” Arun showcases a huge pile of his writing and tells us that most have been co-authored by his wife Sabhyata Soni, who is an electronics engineer by profession and is pursuing Phd. “An assistant professor, had I send the entry, her name would have appeared with mine in the records,” tells this 37-year-old.

    An MSc statistics from Panjab University and PGDCA from Kurukshetra University, “About 16 lakh copies of my books are sold every year,” he claims, as he talks about the six to seven hours he spends writing every day and another two hours that are utilized for updating his knowledge. “As for trends in computers, my work as a consultant keeps me abreast with the latest.” Soni says that in the past he’s won many awards including first prize at The Brain Game-II and Distinguished Author award by Federation of Educational Publishers in India, has directed the firm ‘The Choice Computer Systems’ and his books are being used at schools like Mayo College, Ajmer, City Montessori School, Lucknow, Bhawan Vidyala School - Chandigarh, GD Geonka International School, New Delhi and DPS, Dubai.
