There is no point in making a Jayasuriya into an Atapattu, says SL head coach

    The problem is chucking. Since one can’t bowl really fast or swing a tennis ball, people tend to chuck. But other than that, it’s similar to tape-ball cricket. Actually, there is a tape-ball cricket federation in Sri Lanka at a very nascent stage, and we are encouraging it. We went to Pakistan and saw the development of tape-ball cricket there and we came back and gave inputs to our guys. Look at how many unconventional cricketers Pakistan has produced due to tape-ball cricket. We too need to do that.
