  • The Karnataka government today indicated for the first time that there is “very conclusive” evidence linking Bangalore engineer Kafeel Ahmed to the Glasgow airport attack.

Home Minister M P Prakash said the state had received credible information from the Centre indicating Kafeel’s role in the attack.

“Apparently these people (the suspects) are very sober, very intelligent and courteous people. People will not suspect that they harbour such views. They are more dangerous than rogues on the street,” Prakash told NDTV later.

A meeting has been called by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to review findings from investigations by the Bangalore police into antecedents of the three persons said to be involved in the UK terror plot.

According to Bangalore police, Kafeel’s family had indicated that the person shown on TV engulfed in flames during the Glasgow attack could be their Kafeel.

Police commissioner N Achutha Rao said they had seized a hard disk of a computer used by Kafeel while in Bangalore and some religious propaganda CDs. “We have seized discs of high capacity and other material that Kafeel left behind before leaving for the UK,” Rao said.
