Talawdekar was convicted for not acting on the specific information about smuggling and for accepting bribe for facilitating the landing of arms. Last year, the Alibaug Sessions Court sentenced Talawdekar to a year in rigorous imprisonment under the Prevention of Corruption Act for having disproportionate assets.

The most damning evidence was against Gurav, who had let the accused use his official jeep for the landing. He was found guilty of piloting two trucks loaded with explosives to safe passage from Ghondhar Phata to Kanghar in Raigad district as part of the Dighi landing operations.
