BJP candidate from Bhopal parliamentary constituency and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister,Kailash Joshi announced on Thursday that he would not fight any election after ensuing Lok Sabha polls.
“This is my last election and after that I will not fight any election,” Joshi said in Bhopal.
“However,I will continue to associate myself with the BJP’s organisational work but not contest any elections,” he said.
Joshi is the second former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister after Babulal Gaur to declare that he will not contest elections any more.
Gaur,who is at present Urban Administrtion and Development Minister,had announced before the last Assembly elections that he will not contest any more polls.
“I want to register a record win in my last innings,” Joshi,who is the sitting MP from Bhopal and elected eight times from Bagli Assembly seat for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly,said. Joshi was the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh from June 23,1977 to January 18,1978.
