With not a minute to breathe keeping with an 18-hour packed schedule, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Harish Rai Dhanda hardly gets time to even catch up with the latest news on television.
Time for recreation and watching the latest movies is hence next to impossible. But yes, he does recall the last movie he saw — Lage Raho Munna Bhai, which he says he saw three years ago with his family in a late night show at Orient Cinema.
“It was an entertaining film and I enjoyed it a lot. It was a revival of sorts with the thoughts and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi coming alive,” Dhanda recollects.
And before the Sanjay Dutt starrer, the last movie he had seen was 22 years ago, starring the actor’s father Sunil Dutt.
But the political stalwart fails to remember the name of the movie despite a lot of trying. “It was something to do with cancer, that’s all I can recall.”
“I never got a chance to step into any movie hall after that though several multiplexes have opened in the city. My wife and daughters often go and watch movies but they never complain that I cannot accompany them because they know I have other responsibilities as well,” he added.
Though Dhanda can rattle out details of any development project in the city, he fails to impress us with his Bollywood knowledge.
Here’s an example: “My daughters Kanika and Swati recently saw the Bipasha Basu starrer ‘Washington’. They gave me a review but I don’t remember too many details.”
