Aviation hubs in ppp mode

The state-run flying clubs might be in the news for the wrong reasons but the government is now going all out to rope in private players to set up two integrated helicopter and three general aviation hubs in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. The helicopter hubs are being planned at Pinjore and Narnaul and will look after maintenance,repair and overhaul as well as fixed base operations. The general aviation hubs have been proposed for Hisar,Bhiwani and Karnal and will specifically cater to light and medium fixed-wing aircraft as well as helicopters.

Girls on top in Class X exams

In a state notorious for female foeticide,girls outshone boys in the Class X examination conducted by the Haryana School Education Board in all 21 districts. Students of Jhajjar district topped the list with 80 per cent girls making the cut. Among boys,the pass percentage was 75 per cent. Jhajjar is also the constituency and home district of state Education Minister Geeta Bhukkal.

Pilot project on education

The Union Human Resource Development Ministry has selected Haryana to implement its pilot project on school-level vocational education. In addition to normal education,school children will get trained in job-oriented vocational skills. The project’s basic aim is to help students earn and pay for their higher studies as well as learn an additional skill.

Eco-tourism gets a boost

The Haryana government has decided to give an impetus to eco-tourism in the state. State Finance Minister Captain Ajay Singh Yadav recently laid the foundation stone of the Rajiv Gandhi Herbal Park and Eco-Tourism project at Masani Barrage near Dharuhera in Rewari district.
