SRINAGAR: The Hurriyat Conference condemned the blasts terming it as an attempt to derail the ongoing Indo-Pak peace process. “Those involved in the blasts are enemies of humanity and their purpose is to sabotage the peace process,” Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq said. “Hurriyat wishes that people of India and Pakistan fight the elements together... I hope these blasts doesn’t put a cloud over the talks,” Mirwaiz said.
Condemnations also poured in from the hardline faction of the Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, JKLF’s Yaseen Malik, Democratic Freedom Party’s Shabir Shah and People’s Conference’s Sajad Gani Lone. Yaseen Malik, in Delhi, termed the attack as “tragic development”. “The blast has come at a time when the ground was being prepared for the resolution of the Kashmir dispute. It is unfortunate,” Malik said.
PoK-based United Jihad Council accused the “radical Hindu groups” for the blasts. “Mujahids will never commit such heinous acts where innocents are killed,” the UJC said in a statement.
We will not allow elements which want to sabotage the ongoing peace process and succeed in their nefarious designs.... Such wanton acts of terrorism will only serve to further strengthen the resolve to attain the mutually desired objective of sustainable peace between the two countries
