Three ISC-XII papers rescheduled to avoid clash with trade union strike dates

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has rescheduled three papers of the Indian School Certificate (ISC-Class XII) examination in view of dates clashing with the nationwide strike called by central trade unions on Wednesday and Thursday.

A CISCE notification said the decision to reschedule the papers was taken considering requests from heads of schools. The CISCE has asked heads of schools to notify all concerned about the change in exam time-table. Principal, Bishop's School, Pune Camp, Frank Freese, told Newsline the rescheduling of three papers would not pose any problem for the school or the students. "We completed the syllabus by November. Rescheduling of papers will only give more time for students for revision," he said.

The ISC exam, which started on February 4, will now conclude on April 1, instead of March 25.

Vidya Valley, Riverdale International Residential, Vidya Pratishthan's Magarpatta City Public School, DSK, St Helena's and St Mary's are some leading CISCE schools in Pune.

Meanwhile, local schools and colleges are expected to operate as usual during two days of the bandh. The Class XII examination, conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), starts on February 21 and until Tuesday evening there was no MSBSHSE notification about any shifting of the date.

New dates

Arts Paper-III will be held on February 25, instead of the earlier scheduled date of February 21

Environmental Science Paper-I (theory) will be held on April 1, instead of February 20

Environmental Education Paper-I (theory) will also be held on April 1, instead of February 20
