Trinity India Pvt Ltd, a forging firm, has sought to retrench 38 workers out of 120. “We had given them permission for lay-off till March; however, they have applied again to extend the period. In the previous instance, the union had agreed to the lay-off, this time it has opposed,” Pagar said.
Senior Trinity officers were contacted but did not comment.
The chemical unit could not be contacted. It has sought permission to lay off 28 workers and retrench another 28 workers.
