A day after a tiger cub was found dead in Dhaba range of Chandrapur forest,a full-grown male tiger was found dead in the Junora range of Forest Development Corporation of India on Saturday.

“The cause of death is apparently territorial fight with another male. There are signs of the fight on the spot. “All body parts are intact,” said Regional Manager,FDCM,Sanjay Thakre.

The tiger was about 10-year-old and the fight, sources said, occurred about six days ago. The discovery of the body after six days has, however, raised question mark over the patrolling in the area despite an alert in view of intelligence inputs about poachers’ gangs.

A three-month-old cub was found dead in Dhaba range on Friday. Assistant Conservator of Forest P D Kottewar said,“The cub was apparently killed by a pack of wild dogs. A lot of wild dog footprints were found around the place. The body was badly mauled.”
