Tiger Pataudi is improving: Doctor

Doctors says if his condition improves,he could be discharged in a couple of days.

Former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi,who was admitted to a hospital here because of lung infection,is stable and improving,a doctor attending on him said.

The 70-year-old Pataudi’s son and Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan rushed to Delhi from Mumbai to attend his father on Friday. He along with his mother Sharmila Tagore are currently in Delhi to be with the former cricketer.

“Pataudi is better now. He is improving,” a doctor attending on him said.

He was admitted to Sir Gangaram Hospital because of interstitial lung disease (ILD),a condition in which the passage of oxygen to the two lungs is less. The patient in such cases breath out more of carbon dioxide.

Doctors said if his condition improved further,he could be discharged in a couple of days.

Pataudi,regarded as one of the finest Indian captains,played 46 Tests for the country,scoring 2,793 runs for an average of 34.91 with an unbeaten 203 being his highest score.

In all,he smashed six centuries and 16 fifties in his career.
