  • The arrest of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda by the Enforcement Directorate is "imminent" as the evidence against him for allegedly carrying out hawala transactions and illegal investments worth crores of rupees "is satisfying".

Sources in the Enforcement Directorate said the alleged documentary proofs and subsequent leads found against Koda and his associates will culminate in his arrest soon after his discharge from a hospital in Ranchi.

"It is (Koda's arrest) imminent. The evidence is satisfying," the sources said.

The sources said the information obtained from the seized documents and affidavits will have to be put across to Koda for further progress in the case, which can only happen after detailed questioning.

"Under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, the arrest takes place under section 19. Authorities from both Income Tax department and the ED are waiting for the medical reports of Koda and his subsequent discharge from the hospital," they said.

Meanwhile, the IT department officials are still carrying out the sealing exercises on the properties of Koda and his associates. The searches had begun on October 31. The ED is also preparing to send notices for production of documents and attendance in person against certain other associates of the former Jharkhand Chief Minister, they said.

Both the departments (IT and ED) will also initiate the proceedings for attachment of properties soon. Earlier the ED had served summons to Koda and his associates, for questioning them on alleged hawala transactions and investments.

Both the departments have started scrutiny of the documents related to alleged hawala transactions and investments running into more than Rs 2,000 crore by Koda and his associates.

india is infested by political parasitesBy: raj | 06-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Everybody in India probably knows that more than 90 percent of Indian politicians are thieves and criminals. May they be corporators or M.L.A. or M.P.,they all have stolen public money and stashed trillions of dollars abroad. Most Indian politicians have their family members enter politics because this is the best way to get security and also to get super rich. The list of political crooks is endless. The solution to this problem maybe that the C.B.I. should be under and answerable only to the Chief Justice of India's Supreme Court. All persons and their family members whether dead of alive, who have held any kind of political office in India since the last forty years should be throughly probed by the C.B.I. and the income tax department. Those guilty of stealing money or involved in crime should be arrested and all the bank balances and properties should be attached to the national treasury. Money stashed abroad should be brought back.
MADHU KODA SCAMBy: NIRANJAN | 06-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward FROM THE PHOTOGRAPHS THAT I HAVE SEEN, MADHU KODA IS CLOSE TO LALU. WHO COULD BE A BETTER TEACHER ON HOW TO DIVERT FUNDS AND MAKE BILLIONS THAN LALU OF THE BIHAR FODDER SCAM! HE WILL ALSO TEACH MADHU ON HOW TO GET AWAY WITH IT AND THEN BECOME A CENTRAL MINISTER!
ARREST OF MADHU KODABy: NIRANJAN | 06-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward WITH ALL THE REPORTS IN THE MEDIA THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN NO DOUBT THAT HE SHOULD BE ARRESTED IMMEDIATELY ON SUSPICIAON OF WRONGDOINGS. BUT THE ARREST IS BEING DELAYED TO ALLOW ALL THE CONNECTED AND CORRUPT NETAs AND POLITICIANS TO DESTROY OR CHANGE THE EVIDENCE SO THAT ULTIMATELY, IF ANYONE, ONLY MADHU KODA MAY BE INDICTED AND THE REST OF THE CROOKS WILL ESCAPE. A SIMILAR CASE WAS TELGI'S WHEREIN TELGI PAID FOR ALL THE OTHER CROOKS. WHAT A COUNTRY, WHAT A SYSTEM!
Koda's arrestBy: Thomson Mathai, Rajkot | 05-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward When politicians of all hues use the democratically elected mandate to swell their monetary fortunes by unlawful means, who has to stop such practices? Naturally the electorate. When electorates themselves are not sure what to do, why to make verbal noise? Why don't we all force the parties to give a clean administration by selecting clean people for the posts of MLAs / MPs. In this matter all parties are alike, the degree varies. Why don't we boycot such govts whichever state they rule? Mud throwing on each other only gives the media to cover such daily items as news. The sound bytes die natural tomorrow some other things make another loud noise. In Diwali you hear only the sound of crackers, fail to see the light and the message. In politics we hear of only corruption. Which party is different ? Can you name a single person who is behind the bars for corruption of office, especially of political class? We all Indians are a gang of thieves and the smarter among the lot survives!
