Stenciled, painted and even pierced, theres more to nail art than just a manicure
Fashion is always evolving. For example,it is no longer enough to have well manicured hands. Getting the nails stenciled, painted, and even pierced has become the rage among girls in the city. The range is wide, from bright sequin nail art to natural shades of needle nail art, coupled with designs of sun signs, stars, flowers and even letters of the name.
Nail art is the best way to have beautifully groomed hands and gorgeous nails, says Teraca, manager,La Opulence Unisex Salon,Sector 22. It allows one to express her personality, she adds. Ramneek Kaur of Tress Lounge,Sector 8 adds,We get around ten customers every week to get nail art done, including young girls, working women and housewives. Nail art is now an important accessory.
The wide range of nail art available include gel nails, needle nail art, brush nail art,French manicure and bridal nail art. College-going girls generally opt for natural shades. So,French manicure, needle nail art and brush nail art are appropriate for them. Bridal nail art,on the other hand,is done with the help of brighter shades, sequins and glitter. Equally popular are 3-D nail art designs and nail piercing, says Kaur.
Nail art designs also require a lot of care. A coating of transparent nail polish is given to ensure longevity and to prevent the design from chipping-off. If taken proper care,it can stay up to four weeks, says Neeru of Lakme Beauty Salon,Sector 8,Panchkula. The price varies according to the design. Basic designs cost around Rs 175 and can go up to Rs 3,000, says Teraca.
The right choice of nail art can add to the vibrancy of the simplest of outfits. Preeti Jain,a student pursuing CA from Delhi and a resident of Sector 15,Panchkula says,I always try and match the shade with my dress, whenever I have to go to a party. It looks very attractive and stylish.
Many girls also try to show their creativity by doing nail art at home. Jaspreet Kaur, student of MCM DAV College says,It is not possible to get nail art done from a salon. So,I make designs over a neutral shade with the help of a toothpick. It helps me get rid of simple, boring shades of nail-polish.
