The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has worked out three-month initial sustenance plans for 41 affected families of the July 13 blasts on the lines of its involvement with the 26/11 victims.

The plans for the first three months (starting August) have been estimated to cost Rs 11 lakh and these include educational assistance for 12 families. The health and livelihood interventions and the budget estimates for the same will be worked out in the coming months.

“Two-and-a-half years of work with 26/11 victims and families of the deceased has enabled us to understand the trajectory of recovery and the major impediments in the process, most of which are unique to the city. We want to use our expertise and lessons learned to help families affected by the July blasts,” says Jacquleen Joseph, associate professor,TISS.

The needs assessment survey was concluded recently.
