Cognizant defeated Hewlett Packard by 4 wickets thanks to a good all-round performance by Utkarsh Tiwari in the Inter-IT Cricket Championship organised by S1 at the Poona Club Ground over the weekend.
Hewlett-Packard won the toss and chose to bat first. They put up a decent total of 131 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their 20 overs.
Mahesh Bhonsale top-scored with 58 runs off 46 balls, including eight boundaries. Rizwan Khan gave him good support with a run-a-ball 31. Hewlett Packard were greatly helped by the partnership of 69 runs between Parag Dahiwal and Mahesh Bhonsale for the fourth wicket. For Cognizant,Utkarsh Tiwari did most of the damage,picking up four wickets for 29 runs.
Cognizant achieved their target in 17.2 overs with four wickets to spare.
Tiwari top-scored with 34 runs of 23 balls,including two fours and two sixes. Gaurav Chuttani gave him good support with 30 runs off 24 balls,which included four boundaries.
The fifth wicket partnership between Tiwari and Vidyesh Khaladkar of 35 runs in just twenty balls was instrumental in the victory. For Hewlett-Packard,Rajiv Shekhar bowled well for his two wickets.
