  • Police commissioners of several cities across the country besides intelligence officials are scheduled to attend a meeting on Saturday to discuss terrorism and organised crime with the Maharashtra Police top brass in the city on Saturday.

Sources said Police Commissioners of Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Surat, Ahmedabad and Baroda will attend the meeting, along with representatives from the Intelligence Bureau and the Research and Analysis Wing.

Mumbai Police Commissioner, D Sivanandan, and Maharashtra Director General of Police S S Virk, will attend the meet to be held at Sahyadri Guest House in Malabar Hill.

“There is a meeting of top security officials and police commissioners from across the country in Mumbai tomorrow and I have also been asked to attend it,” confirmed Virk.

“The issues discussed will be the threat of terrorism faced by all major cities and also the menace of organised crime and the means to tackle it. The basic idea behind this meet is an exchange of information and ideas,” said Virk.
