  • The Director General (PAC) P P S Sidhu and the ADG (Law & Order) Brij Lal are likely to hand over a report to the DGP Vikram Singh suggesting reinforcement of the anti-dacoity cell and purchasing of combat weaponry for it.

Sidhu and Brij Lal were asked to review the reasons behind delay in the operation against dreaded dacoit Ghanshyam Kewat, who was killed on June 18 after a three-day encounter in Chitrakoot with 400-odd policemen and STF commandos.

Four policemen were killed while six others, including the PAC IG and the Chitrakoot Range DIG, were seriously injured in the encounter.
