A first-year student of the United Institute of Management fainted after he was allegedly stripped and tortured by his seniors, leading to his hospitalisation on Tuesday.

Hostel Warden S N Pandey claimed to have identified four students and said action will be taken against them soon. The victim, Bindesh Tiwari, was a student of Bachelor of Computer Application.

His brother Nitin said: “His seniors forced him to dance in the hostel garden. He was stripped and tortured until he fell unconscious.” After some time, Bindesh was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was treated till late Tuesday night.

Nitin had reached Allahabad from Jaunpur on Tuesday night. He accused the institute management of initially trying to hush up the incident. “But when my brother was rushed to Acchayvat Hospital in Naini, they informed my parents,” he said.

Bindesh claimed to know the students who had tortured him and said would disclose their identity if the management assures him of strict action. Nitin met institute Director Jagdish Gulati on Wednesday.

“The director told me that he was holding a meeting in this regard and will soon take action,” he added. He, however, plans to approach the police if the management did not any action.
