Rajya Sabha

Supriya Sule (NCP): Was present in the House in the morning. Had one starred question on Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF). She had sought to know whether only Rs 700 crore was disbursed against an allocation of Rs 4,670 crore for the year 2007-08. Sule had come prepared with a lot of clippings and research on the subject to raise supplementary questions and was disappointed when the House was adjourned. She left for Mumbai after knowing about her son's fever.

Kanimozhi (DMK): She was present in the House at 11 am, but did not return later, when it reconvened at 12 noon after adjournment.

Jay Panda (BJD): Had come to the House but left immediately after the adjournment. Left for Bhubaneswar in the evening. He had a starred question on whether there is any proposal to install a satellite-based system to help fishermen in distress in the sea.

Lok Sabha

Rahul Gandhi (Congress): In the capital, but stayed away from the House. Was not seen at the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting either, held before the House assembled.

Milind Deora (Congress): Drove in to the Parliament House around 11.45, long after the first adjournment of the Lok Sabha. Did not show up in the House after the House re-assembled at noon and later at 2 pm.

Jyotiraditya Scindia (Congress): In Delhi, but kept away from the House.

Sachin Pilot (Congress): Away from Parliament. Learnt to be busy campaigning for the Khargone (Madhya Pradesh) Lok Sabha byelection.
