Traffic constable killed in road mishap

A 52-year-old constable with the traffic control branch of Pune police was killed after the two-wheeler he was riding was hit by an unidentified vehicle at Bhosari on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Dnyaneshwar Atmaram Gadekar,a resident of Indrayaninagar Police Colony in Bhosari. Gadekar was on his way home after bandobast duty.

The incident took place near Ankush Landge Hall in Bhosari. Cops said he was not wearing a helmet and suffered head injuries. A police officer said,“Gadekar was rushed to a private hospital from where he was shifted to another hospital. He was later moved to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.”
