  • Delhi Police today submitted before a city court that Kiran Dhar, a co accused in the Babu Bhai’s human trafficking case, played a pivotal role in the scam by forging travel documents of the prospective clients to get visas. In response to Dhar’s bail application, the investigation officer said, “She was instrumental in preparing all forged documents to enhance the personal profiles for obtaining visa.”

Dhar is allegedly Rajendra Kumar Gampa’s sister. Gampa is another accused in the case and personal secretary of ex BJP MP Babu Bhai Katara. According to police sources, Dhar was working as chief operation officer with Cloud Nine Travels and Forex Pvt Ltd. Seeking dismissal of her bail plea, the police told the court that her computer has been sent to Hyderabad for retrieving the erased data which may reveal more about her involvement. “Scrutiny of bank statements revealed entries of heavy cash and transactions, which clearly indicate her deep involvement with the human trafficking syndicate,” police said pointing out that her address on the passport was found to be false.

The court has deferred the hearing on her bail plea to May 24, the day on which bail applications for the other accused in the case will be heard. Dhar along with Gampa and Sunder Lal Yadav were arrested on April 20 while they were allegedly trying to leave Delhi.

    2 MPs summoned

New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Wednesday asked two MPs, Mohammed Tahir Khan of the BSP and BJP’s Ramswaroop Koli, who had failed to turn up despite repeated summons, to appear before it on Thursday for questioning in connection with the investigation into the human trafficking case. Both the MPs failed to appear before the police earlier despite being summoned twice, sources said. PTI
