Three unidentified men attacked a 22-year-old accountant and his assistant and fled with their bag that containing Rs 10 lakh.
The incident took place on Saturday at the CP Tank Road in Girgaum. One of the robbers opened fire when the accountant tried to stop them.
The VP Road police have detained three locals on the description provided by the victims and are expected to arrested them and solve the case after investigations.
According to cops, the incident occurred around 7.15 pm. Accountant Vaibhav Jadhav and his colleague were on their bike, when one of the accused stopped them and tried to snatch the bag from Jadhav.
When Jadhav retaliated, the man opened fire. But the bullet hit the road. The other accused, meanwhile, pointed a knife and the third threw chilli powder on the victims and fled with the loot," said Rajendra Chavan, senior inspector of VP Road police station.
