After breaking ranks with the Third Front,TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday lashed out at the Left parties, accusing them of betrayal by opening talks with the Congress, and vowed to work for expanding the NDA by bringing more like-minded parties into its fold.
Rao met senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi, two days after attending an NDA rally in Ludhiana, and discussed the next course of action. After the meeting, the TRS chief made a scathing attack on the Left parties which had asked him to clarify whether he was with the Third Front, saying the Communists had no locus standi to criticise his party as they had already opened talks with the Congress.
We fought the elections in Andhra Pradesh along with the TDP and Left parties to fight the Congress. But now, they have opened talks with the Congress. They have betrayed us, he added.
Rao said West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee had indicated that the Left might support the Congress and added is it not betrayal? Why only blame us?
The TRS chief claimed the NDA would get more than 225 seats.
