Tulip Telecom March qtr net up 61%

  • Enterprise communications services provider, Tulip Telecom on Monday said its consolidated net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2009, rose by 60.56 per cent to Rs 106.68 crore, over the same period last year.

    The company had a net profit of Rs 66.44 crore in the same period ended March 2008, Tulip Telecom said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

    Total revenue rose to Rs 467.73 crore for the quarter ended March 2009, from Rs 414.68 crore in the same period previous year.

    For the financial year ended March 2009, the company has posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 250.52 crore, up 33.86 per cent from Rs 187.14 crore in the same period last year.

    The board of directors of the company proposed a dividend of Rs 4 a piece for the FY'09.

    Shares of Tulip Telecom were trading at Rs 758, up 2.97 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
