At a time when India’s prime music channels,MTV and Channel V,have diluted music with reality and fiction shows,Sony has stepped in to fill a space that is gaping. It will launch a music channel,Sony Mix,on September 1. The yet-to-be launched channel has begun to create a buzz in the industry and is expected to give stiff competition to other music channels like MTV and Channel V. However,before you raise a toast to pure music,here’s a bit of correction — it’s a Hindi music channel. So for your daily dose of Lady Gaga or Linkin Park,you will still have to surf.
