My guest this week is N Chandrababu Naidu. The man so much in demand and the man so much in the news but also so much out of it. Welcome to Walk The Talk.
Thank You.
You are one of the most important players right now, and also perhaps the most silent one.
No, we are not silent; we are doing our duty. In democracy, one has to play's one's role very carefully. We want to do our best in nation building.
Did this turn of events surprise you?
No, it is very natural because it is an era of coalition politics. Everyone involved should know the art of running governments. They have to bring out a consensus, and in case they fail to do so, problems will arise.
But did you expect this to come at this time or were you were for elections in May?
We expected the problem to arise earlier. It is not entirely a surprise.
I am referring to something else. This issue is that was no surprise that there was difference between the Congress and the Left.
Yes
But what happened to your own party and partners? Departure of Mulayam Singh Yadav…
Naturally the Congress will play politics…
… as would everybody else.
But the way they have played politics, it is not an advantage point for the Congress. They are running the Government because of the Left parties' support, but today they are violating all norms. After all, from the beginning, the Left parties have opposed the nuclear deal. The Congress knew this but was unable to manage the situation. Today, there are so many problems in the country -- corruption, manipulation -- these are not good for the nation.
