Two Apna Ghar girls go missing from new shelter

Two girls associated with Apna Ghar case on Sunday went missing from Hari Om Sewa Dal Home, located at Gandhi Camp. After police received information about the two girls going missing, a frantic search was launched. Three teams were sent to different places to look for them, but to no avail. Senior officers have initiated probe into the how the girls went missing despite tight security deployed in and around Hari Om Sewa Dal.

Two women police members have been suspended.

According to police, Munni, a resident of Assam, and Pooja, a resident of Kanpur, were shifted to Hari Om Sewa Dal after sexual abuse cases emerged in Apna Ghar. Apart from these two, other girls were also shifted to the new home. The girls reported about the missing duo. Thereafter, police started search operation in the nearby areas and other homes. On finding no trace of the two, senior officials were informed.

Preliminary probe revealed that policemen on duty at night went to sleep and the two girls opened the locks and ran away. Gandhi Camp police chowki in-charge Prakash Chand said it was possible that policemen on duty deputed outside the Home fell asleep.
