Two persons were arrested on Monday for carrying unlicenced arms, crude bombs and ganja in a car in Salt Lake. The car on way to Rajarhat was impounded even as three of the five occupants managed to give the police a slip. The two arrested have been identified as Buddhadeb Chakraborty and Sukhen Pal, both residents of Konnagar. “The car slowed down at a checkpost set up on the connecting road to Rajarhat. On observing that the car had two number plates, the policemen alerted other patrol vans,” said a senior police officer.
