Two residents of Raipurrani died after their Maruti Zen car collided head on with a staff bus of the Swami Devi Dyal College, Barwala, near Mauli village on Saturday evening. The deceased were identified as Jasbir Singh (30), a leader of the Youth Congress and Vikram (32). “The two were returning home from Ambala when the accident occurred. Both died on the spot,” said a police officer. The bus driver, identified as Sohan Singh, fled from the scene, leaving behind the bus which has been impounded. Raipurrani Station House Officer Satpal Singh said a case has been registered against Sohan Singh. The post-mortem of the bodies would be conducted on Sunday.
