Two brothers were arrested for running a betting network in the city, police said on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, local crime branch sleuths raided a house located in Gandhigram area of the city last night and arrested the duo —Jignesh Dhabaliya and Bhavesh —when they were receiving bets on their mobile phones, they said. Both the accused were accepting bets on a cricket Test match being played between England and Australia, the police said.
A laptop, a television set and a mobile phone worth Rs 38,400 were seized from their possesion, they said adding the two are being interrogated for further details.
