Two held with cocaine worth Rs 10 crore

    The Ludhiana police have nabbed two people, including a woman, and recovered 1 kg cocain, the market price of which is estimated to be Rs 10 crore.

    SSP Sukhchain Singh Gill, flanked by SP City 2, Snehdeep Sharma, informed, “We have arrested Soma and Sita from a naka at Kanech Chowk, GT Raod and recovered the booty from them. Both Soma and Sita hail from Karnal, Haryana, and are brother and sister-in-law in relation.”

    Gill added, “The duo who were coming from Delhi alighted at Sahnewal. Acting on a tip-off, SH0, Sahnewal, Gurbansa Singh Bains nabbed the duo. Soma was carrying 700 gm of cocain while Sita was carrying 300 gm of the drug. During the interrogation, we have come to know that one Bunty, who is Sita’s son, is basically involved in this smuggling racket. Bunty’s name had recently cropped up in the drugs catch by the Khanna police.”

    The SSP informed that on inquiring about the accused, “We found that Bunty is facing earlier charges under the NDSP Act is currently absconding after having jumped the bail. Similarly, Soma too is facing a case under Section 307. In short, the accused have a prior history of crime.”
