Two held with fake currency

The police on Sunday arrested two persons — Rafi Ahmed,a resident of Sitapur,and Nizamuddin of Madiaon area in Lucknow — from Madiaon area,allegedly with fake currency notes with face value of Rs 16,000.

The police on Sunday arrested two persons — Rafi Ahmed,a resident of Sitapur,and Nizamuddin of Madiaon area in Lucknow — from Madiaon area,allegedly with fake currency notes with face value of Rs 16,000.

An FIR has been lodged against both at Madiaon police station.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Trans-Gomti) Habibul Hasan said the arrested men told police that they used to bring fake currency from Nepal where they got Rs 10,000 fake currency for Rs 2,000. He said the fake currency seized was in the denomination of Rs 500. Hasan said the police were inquiring with the arrested persons to get more details about their network.

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) announced its first list of 14 candidates for the Bihar assembly polls, with its state unit chief Raju Tiwary and leader Hulas Pandey among the nominees. As per the seat-sharing arrangement, LJP (RV) will contest 29 seats, while BJP and JD(U) will contest 101 seats each. The remaining 15 candidates will be announced soon.
