Two Kerala officers script satire on ‘true nature’ of a Malayali

Ambady also wrote the script for Ayal,a Malayalam film that is yet to be released. Prasanth,a blogger,writes for publications.

Prasanth calls the film a critique of politicians,bureaucrats,celebrities,visual media and reality shows. The managing director of Kerala Tourism Development Corporation,he says an opinion piece that he wrote on Keralas approach towards road development brought Ambady and him together. We completed the script in six months. Whenever possible,we sat together. Otherwise,the rough copy was e-mailed to each other,discussed and corrected.

Ambady,on deputation as director of the Kerala Coastal Area Development Corporation,sees the argumentative nature of a Malayali as the basic character of their script. A Keralite does not accept anyone. He is cynical about everything,has contempt towards everything, he says.

The industry at least is impressed two more projects by them are reportedly on the anvil.
