The Crime Branch has named two persons in the chargesheet of a forged licence racket. Police submitted a forged driving licence as evidence in the case.

The two were arrested after police asked one of their men to pose as a customer and ask for a forged licence. The policeman paid the men Rs 1,500.

In the 10-page chargesheet, police said they were looking for more people involved in the case.

According to the chargesheet, police found that the gang charged Rs 1,500 for making fake licences and Rs 2,000 for registration certificates of vehicles.Acting on a tip- off, police arrested Shiv Kumar Yadav (31) and Bappy Husain (50) on August 6.

Husain was earlier contacted by a policeman, who requested for a forged license. The policeman then gave him two passport size photographs and Rs 1,500. Husain was arrested from Outer Delhi while he was handing over the forged licence to the policeman. Soon after, Shiv Kumar Yadav was also arrested.

Eight forged licences were recovered from their possession. The licences had forged credentials of transport authorities of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Delhi. Police said none of the transport authorities were involved in the racket.

They said the authorities had written to them stating that no such licenses had been issued.
