Srinagar, October 7 : The J&K police and Army on Tuesday claimed to have killed two militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba, hailing from Kerala, in separate encounters in Kupwara district in north Kashmir.

They were killed after the police received a specific input about the movement of a militant group in the area. They were planning to sneak across the Line of Control. “The documents we recovered from one of the slain militants after a fierce 36-hour gun battle at Marg Darpora village indicate that they hail from Kerala,” said Inspector General of Police, Kashmir range, Balaji Srinivas. “The duo were associated with the LeT and we are in touch with Kerala police to ascertain their real identity.”

Police sources say an identity card recovered identified one of the militants as Shakeel Mohammad of 383 Chowk Kovalam, Kerala. Police also recovered some literature in Malayalam from his possession. One AK rifle with two magazines, 52 rounds of ammunition and a pouch was also recovered from the encounter site.

Another militant was also killed in the nearby forest area but they are yet to establish his identity even as the police have information that he too was part of a group of five militants from Kerala who had come to the border district to cross over to PoK. Police have launched a massive search to trace the three militants who are at large.

CPM a terrorist organization by Citizen Journalist on 2008-10-08 19:05:15.364914+05:30
Kerala communist govt is itself a terror machine. To steal the votes from Muslim legue and Congress in Kerala CPM playing the terrorist politics. They are in hand with Madani the mastermind behind CBT blast. The discard the terrorist activities of SIMI and other muslim terrorist organization in Malppuram and other parts of Kerala. In Kannur they are butchering RSS, BJP and Congress people. CPM lost sense as a political party and they are the biggest goonda in Kerala. Most ridiculous thing is Keralites tolerate these rowdies and they gave mandate to destroy the state !!!
Keralite muslims are equally dangerous to the Nation's security---- by romesh.sharma on 2008-10-08 18:44:23.107127+05:30
There is no doubt that Kerala has become a den and a safe haven for terrorists.Thousand many well trained and brain-washed Keralite muslims came back to India after having served most of their lives time with fanatics of Saudi and its neighbouring countries. They were illegal and had no legitimate claim to be back but the UPA had supported their cause by giving the status of People of Indian Origin.Their motivation is not only to spread Islam and terrorism but to destablize the Nation and take back India into Islamic clutches. They cross borders only to pass on nation's secrets which they can't do through phone-call,SMS or any other print media. They do smuggle sophisticated explosive materials and learn new tactics. The same is going on with BDesh.GOI has to be very cautious and control illegaland socalled legal migrants without which the Nation will find itself in civil war like condition.May God help India.

In Kerala political parties and their leaders supported the release of such people caught during a SIMI meeting in 2006 (reports by various malayalam news papers).Let the Kerala government come out of politics and take all the people involved in custody and transfer them to the Central agencies.Kerala is a breeding centre of the terrorists and has become a training centre, with the support of politicians and currupt bereaucrats. It is a pity that such activities get not much attention by the media and the so the public.

Militants/terrorists from Kerala----

As commented by Suresh beyond any doubt Kerala has become another breeding ground of Islamic terrorism.Even Christians living there used to be very peaceful folk but for the last decade they are also cooperating with muslims and taken a trend against Hindus. The GOI,UPA had been inactive, rather supportive to these anti-nation elements. It was around a year before when many muslims came back to India from SaudiArabia and other Islamic countries where they served whole life got well trained to spread Islam and create anti-Hindu feelings in the region. That group of old fanatics had no right to get Indian citizenship, which they had lost/relinquished,but the UPA welcomed them for vote-bank policy. These Keralites are operating in the wholw country i.e. both muslims and christians.God save India.

Romesh, you have no idea about Kerala
by Anoop on 2008-10-21 23:27:04.099358+05:30
I mean it,you have no idea of Kerala. The attitude of a North Indian is very primitive compared to the attitude of Keralites. No religion in Kerala is an outsider religion,Christianity here is older than the same in Rome,Islam came when it was conceived. As Keralites,we value peace more than anything else.Your statement that Christians are here to ruin this country smacks of ignorance.Christianityhas contributed more than its due all due to the selfnessof some people, the rest might be followers.Mind your wrds ,you have no idea about the great idea thats Kerala.

This is ridicolous. What made them to cross over the loc to learn the traits of terrorism. islam is a religion of peace, they should abide by their religion. if they don't follow their religion, how would you expect people from other religion accept that their "just cause" is genuine. if they are outraged by the religious discrimination as they claim, people of kandhmal , orisa who belong to another minority group should be terrorist as well. Their is no justification for their plan or action. They are doing more harm to their community than anybody else. The sympathy they gained after the arrest of several people who belonged to the minority group is slowly subsiding due to the response of the people from that community. The "response" in the sense the same people from that community wanted to commit more crime than anybody else. This is not a healthy sigh. Elders from that community has to raise to the occasion and to ask their youths to behave.http://tambaramblog.blogspot.com
