Officers of Mumbai Police Crime Branch on Friday arrested two more men for their alleged role in kidnapping and killing a 20-year-old youth whose body was found buried in the Aarey Colony jungle after a 36-hour search by the police.
The two accused have been identified as Laxman Shettiyar and Yogesh Shettyiar alais Don. The police said they had been booked for killing Kaushik Jalewadi after taking Rs 5 lakh. The Crime Branch will now hand over the accused to the Dahisar police.
The police had earlier arrested Raju Ghar and three others: Nitin Nisar,who is Ghars relative,Nitins sister Yogini,and Sunil Jadiya,for killing Jalewadi,a resident of Anand Nagar in Dahisar (East) and a BCA student.
Police said Lakshman and Don had helped Ghar in kidnapping Jalewadi and taking him to Aarey Milk Colony on Monday. The three accused,along with two other accomplices,allegedly killed Jalewadi and gave the body to two adivasis from the area to dump it.
The police are now on the lookout for an accused identified as Raju Kalia and the two adivasis. We have picked up Laxman Shettiyar and Yogesh Shettiyar,the contract killers, said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Himanshu Roy.
The police said Jalewadi was called by Ghar to the Jari Mari garden in Dahisar (East) at 7.30pm on Monday. The two had boarded a rickshaw to Kandivali,from where they sat in a car with four more occupants: Sunil Jadiya,Don,Raju Kalia and Lakshman. They went to Film City Goregaon (East),and Jalewadi was allegedly strangled .
