  • Two Russian paragliders sustained injuries while flying from Bir near Baijnath, about 80 kilometres from here, during a competition on Saturday. They have been admitted in a private hospital at Nagrota Bagwan. According to Dr Naresh Varmani, who runs the hospital, the two are Mikhail and Dennis. He said they were brought to the hospital by members of the rescue team of the organisers. It is learnt that while Mikhail crashlanded near Deyol, Dennis landed at Qyuri near Bir. Kangra Deputy Commissioner R S Gupta said the state Government had issued instructions against holding any paragliding event without prior permission from the appropriate authority. He said action would be taken against the organisers of Saturday’s event if they had violated the orders.
