Two suspected fake marksheets come under scanner at MSU

The Faculty of Science of M S University on Friday found two marksheets — sent by the Apollo Tyres for verification — to be fake.

The Faculty of Science of M S University (MSU) on Friday found two marksheets — sent by the Apollo Tyres for verification — to be fake. The university had received the marksheets of two students,Rajesh Bharwad and Nutan Waghela, three days ago.

Suspecting that the digits and signatures on the marksheets and degree certificates could be fake, faculty Dean Prof Nikhil Desai sent it to the MSU examination department for further assessment today.

Desai said: “The signatures and four-digit numbers printed on the marksheets and degree certificates appear fake,as the third-year Bachelors of Science (BSc) course certificate never has four digit numbers. Also, the signature of the officer on the degree certificates appears to be forged.” According to the marksheets, both the students completed their graduation in April 2006. He added that the sequence of subjects in the marksheets is Chemistry,Mathematics and Physics. Originally,it is mentioned in the sequence of Chemistry,Physics and Mathematics. MSU registrar A V Gupta said the matter needs further inquiry.
