Courage, hard work, self-confidence and perseverance in women are the main reasons behind today's successful women entrepreneurs, said Kanchan Adhikari, executive producer of Adhikari Brothers and noted media personality.

In today's world, marketing is as important as production and today's women entrepreneurs and industrialists have to note this, she said while speaking at the prize distribution function of the Pravin Masalewale Charitable Trust's eighth Udyog Janani Kamal Puraskar. The Udyog Janani Kamal Puraskar were awarded to Jyotsana Chirputkar of Pune-based Sailesh Industries, Sunita Dixit of the Panvel-based Aslini Lab Tech Services along with Ambika Mahila Bachat Gat, Patas in Daund Taluka.

The awards consisted of a cash prize, memento and a citation. Speaking on the occasion, Rajkumar Chordia, managing trustee, said the awards were instituted by Pravin Masalewale to recognise the efforts of first-generation women entrepreneurs.

A committee comprising Yogiraj Devkar, Vasudha Keskar, Ratna Ganapati and Zhelum Chaubal selected the awardees, a press note said.
