On Monday, the World Bank had deemed Nestor ineligible to bid for direct contracts from 2007 to 2011. It also debarred IT major Wipro from doing business for the same period.
Wipro's and Satyam's responses are identicalBy: Raj | 13-Jan-2009Reply | ForwardSatyam's founder said the same thing. he even wanted WB to apologize. Few days later, he accpeted corruption and resigned. Now, Wipro seems to be going in the same direction. Mera Bharat Mahan. Llet us cheat the whole world. Together, we can do it.
World BankBy: Aravind | 13-Jan-2009Reply | ForwardThe Government of India should involve and find out the truth. If World Bank really did victimize Indian companies, government should use its' channels and measures and protect at least fairness.
World Bank ActionsBy: IS | 13-Jan-2009Reply | ForwardIt seems the world Bank has been hasty in its debarrment procedures. If Wipros claim that it had obtained letters from the employees of non-conflict of intrest then it looks like the culprit may be the World Bank and its employees themselves and thats where the scutiny should start.I sincerely hope with all the AIG's, Exons and Murdoff etc of the world - Satyam incident is not blown out of proportion and become a witch-hunt effort against India
World Bank above LawBy: Sunil Fotedar | 13-Jan-2009Reply | ForwardIt's really a deplorable situation, knowing that world Bank can't be taken to court due to the immunity enjoyed by it. This is really a cause for worry as it can do anything to anyone without being asked for reasons. Law can't be held to ransom by World Bank. It needs to justify it's decisions.
