LOSTSunday,9 pm,Star WorldThe last time one saw Sawyer (Josh Holloway) in LOST,he was desperately trying to hold on to his ladylove Juliet (Elizabeth Mitchell) from the energy packet where Jack Shephard (Matthew Fox) had dropped a hydrogen bomb in the hope that it would stop the time and space conundrum so that their Oceanic 815 flight would never crash. Season 6,the final time LOST is aired, picks up from the suspense-filled end of Season 5 and moves on to the other characters, slowly revealing the progression graph of each character. Juliet is barely alive, and Sawyer revives his old enmity with Jack after she dies in Sawyers arms. The series-old battle of wits between Jack and Sawyer is sure to increase with Juliet out of the picture and both men vying for Kates attention.LOST pioneered the split track formula, wherein apart from the main plot, the show focuses on one characters past in each episode. In the opening episode of the final season, all the major characters are seen on their ill-fated Oceanic flight from Jacks point of view. The episode ends with the crew and passengers returning home to LAX airport, presenting both the outcomes of the detonation of the nuclear blast. The second episode, too, carries forward the same track. Thus,Kate attempts to run away from the airport in a cab shared by Claire (who disappeared in the forest in Season 4) while on the other hand the survivors carry Sayid to the temple where he comes back to life after being clinically dead. On another part of the island,Jacobs gun-toting guards, carrying John Lockes body in a casket burst inside Jacobs cave where Locke (Terry OQuinn) transforms into the Smoke Monster and kills them off. The black smoke, which traces its origin in the temple, had everyone mystified since they landed in the island. For more than five years, fans have grappled with the mysteries of the island where the survivors of the Oceanic flight were marooned. The Dharma initiative, role of billionaire Charles Widmore, the Others, the Temple, the Black Monster, the islands healing powers and the end-of-the-world scenarios are dying to get a proper closure from the makers. The first two episodes have shown no sign of resolving the mysteries the series has hidden so well. Viewers can expectmore action in the episodes to come. Newfound LOST fans will lose interest quickly after finding everything too convoluted. Fans of the series, meanwhile, extensively discussed the end of the series in the US last week. It was trending on Twitter and even the likes of Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing from Friends) were seen discussing the final plot twists. If anything, the interest in the series may yet lead to a film, something that many fans have been clamouring for. All may not be lost yet.Verdict: A must-watch for LOST fans.
