The incident took place at around 10:50 am on Sunday when Railway Protection Force’s Head Constable Uddal Singh had returned from his night shift and was having his meals at the barrack mess located a few feet away from the main barracks.
As per witnesses, Head Constable Shivram Sharma, who was in his uniform for the day duty, confronted Singh after entering the mess and fired seven rounds at him with his INSAS service rifle. Five of the seven rounds hit Singh, killing him on the spot.
