On Saturday, the 11-year-old lad from the Krishna’s land fulfilled his promise by winning the Saregamapa Li'l Champs, the musical pageant on Zee TV.
Another UP lad, Yatharth Ratnum from Varanasi came second breaking the final jinx for the state in style.
Hemant who was a wild card entry into the show is a gifted singer, says his father Hukumchand Brijwasi runs a musical band.
A darling of all the judges, Hemant has already done a number with Sukhwinder and Suresh Wadkar for the animation film ‘Baal Ganesh’.
The runners-up, Yatharth Ratnum, a resident of Varanasi gave a tough fight to his rivals.
A Mohd Rafi and Shreya Ghoshal fan Yatharth is a class VIII student of Sunbeam School, Bhagwanpur.
A music buff, Yatharth prefers to do riyaz when kids of his age watch cartoons and play video games. On a ‘special leave’ to pursue his singing dreams, Yatharth started singing at the age of eight.
A disciple of Guru Pandit Devashish Dey, Yatharth aspires to become a playback singer like “Sonu Nigam”.
The event was graced by Salman Khan, Ajay Devgan and Asin.
The cast of London Dreams along with producer Vipul Shah felicitated some of the wonder kids of the contest.
