Chief Minister and BJPs Election Campaign Committee chairman Narendra Modi urged the party to utilise the news media to convey the message of development and good governance to the people on a large scale. Modi was addressing a state-level media training workshop organised by the party in Gandhinagar on Tuesday,an official party release said.
He said the country was fed up with directionless and corrupt leadership of the Congress which was trying to mislead people by spreading falsehoods about corruption and price-rise. He said the BJPs media teams should be armed with accurate information and make positive use of news media in exposing bad deeds of rulers in Delhi and ensure a Congress-free India.
BJPs Gujarat president R C Faldu gave the inaugural address at the workshop. Rajya Sabha member and BJP national vice-president Smriti Irani shared the power of electronic media with the participants while management expert Harshad Brahmbhatt threw light on the role of a spokesperson in publicity matters. Maulik Bhagat,another expert,held forth on the ways to use social media.
National party spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman laid stress on the role of media in spreading the party ideology. A debate was also conducted by forming six groups at the workshop,said the release. Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley in his concluding remarks said that at the time when the next Lok Sabha election was going to result in an unprecedented victory for the BJP,it was necessary that party spokesmen should play an effective role in exposing failures of the UPA government on internal security,corruption,poor leadership and bad governance.
