The state government on Saturday suspended DIG (Border Range) D G Vanjhara and SP (Operations) Rajkumar Pandian, following their arrests in the Sohrabuddin Shaikh fake encounter case and the alleged killing of Shaikh’s wife Kausar Bi. Principal Secretary (Home) Balwant Singh said the suspension orders against the two IPS officers were issued in keeping with the All India Service Discipline Rules. In fact, they were deemed suspended the moment they spent 48 hours in police custody after their arrests, Singh said.
