Varun may court arrest for cause of ‘Hindu swabhiman’

BJP’s Young Turk Varun Gandhi will say that he “fought” for the “swabhiman (self esteem) of the Hindus” and has “no problems” in going to jail “for the cause”. He will also add that this doesn’t mean that “he is against any community”.

Initially supposed to court arrest in Pilibhit on Saturday,Varun was said to be toying the idea of courting arrest on Friday itself. He had earlier been granted anticipatory bail till Friday.

While the young Gandhi wants to make the arrest a big public event,his advisors are also apprehensive that the district administration might prevent that from happening. The young Gandhi is however receiving full support from BJP president Rajnath Singh. Senior BJP leader Kalraj Mishra told The Indian Express that Rajnath has asked him to be present in Pilibhit when he courts arrest.
