  • City-BASED construction firm Vascon Engineers Ltd has opened V-Tech, an IT park and commercial complex developed and constructed by the company.

The Rs 100 crore V-Tech project has a built-up area of 3.5 lakh sq ft and is spread over a 7-acre plot at Indiranagar, close to Mumbai naka. It is a joint venture project between Vascon Engineers & Sankhlecha Constructions of Nashik. WNS, a BPO services provider, is V-Tech’s first occupant.

Addressing a press conference, R Vasudevan, managing director, Vascon, said, “With Pune and Mumbai more or less saturated, the next and nearest option for the IT industry is Nashik. What makes it attractive is the ready availability of a young talent pool thanks to the many educational institutions.”

According to the latest guidelines issued by the state government for IT and ITeS projects, 50 percent of an IT park can be leased out to non-IT users such as insurance, banking, financial services and general commercial users.

According to Roopa Mudliar, assistant vice president, marketing and business development, “V-Tech has a variety of sizes on offer, from 26,000 sq ft floor plate area for large offices to 1,000 sq ft for individual shops. Going by the enquiries we have been receiving, in addition to IT majors, we are likely to have an interesting mix of large showrooms, offices and niche shops.”
