Soon after the complaint, Dr Brar’s family had alleged that they were not being given the documents, mentioning the charges against the DSW, that they had asked from the university. Dr Kang said: “We have already supplied Dr Brar with the copy of the complaint, which is his right. He now wants the evidence submitted by the complainant. We cannot give him that for we have to protect the evidence and the witnesses that the complainant has submitted to us. We can, however, assure Dr Brar that his evidence and witnesses would be accorded the same protection as that of the complainant.”
Commenting on Dr Brar’s contention that all the members of the inquiry committee are his juniors, Dr Kang said: “This contention holds no water. Take the example of Bill Clinton’s inquiry in the Monica Lewinsky case. The sitting president of the United States of America was grilled by a jury where many members were junior to him. Now if someone wants God to come and hold the inquiry, then that is not possible.”
