  • The Superintendent of Police (Vigilance) R S Ghumman along with Officer Special Duty (Vigilance) conducted surprise checks at the Estate Office on Thursday morning in which 31 branches, including the Building Branch, Enforcement Branch, Legal Cell, Land Acquisition and Periphery Branch, among others, were raided. As many as 54 files were seized by Vigilance sleuths who will now submit a report for the same to the CVO. Of the 193 staff checked, 14 were found absent from duty while 17 others were on leave.

The Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), meanwhile, has directed his department to intensify surprise checks on public dealing seats by laying traps, if needed, and also monitor various construction works to ensure better quality.
